Board House Attendant (seasonal/temporary)

SpringHill Suites, Oceanside, an establishment with a positive vibes only culture is HIRING! We're looking for a full-time(seasonal/temporary) Board House Attendant to join the team! Located in downtown Oceanside alongside Hello Betty, we honor the fun, hip and local community.  We pride ourselves on our keen attention to detail and constant disruption to the market. We always provide unrivaled hosts to guests from all reaches. 

The Retail Attendant is responsible for assisting all guests with purchases, helping them locate and decide on needed items.

• Provide a warm welcome to our internal and external guests.
• Promote sales by using suggestive selling techniques.
• Operates cash register and credit card machine to take money and make change.
• Unpacking and tagging all merchandise that is for re-sale.
• Checks shelves and processes inventory.
• Keep store rooms clean and well organized.
• Re-stock merchandise for sale as needed.

Education/Formal Training

High school education or equivalent experience.

Experience

Prior experience in a cash handling position. Three months or more of retail/sales related experience is preferred

Knowledge/Skills

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Must have exceptional organization skills

• Lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying -lift inventory, boxes up to 40 lbs
• Bending/kneeling -bending required to stock and clean the shop; kneeling required to assist in inventory and guest service.
• Mobility -needs to be able to move around shop to assist guest, stock merchandise, control loss, dust all areas of the shop, vacuum the shop, reach high hanging merchandise.
• Continuous standing -clerk will stand behind the register as the posted perch area, when not assisting guests on the floor or conducting inventory/cleaning duties.
• Climbing stairs of approximately 1 step 50% of 8 hour shift; climbing ladders of approximately 6 feet 30% of 8 hour shift.

Work inside 95% shift.

Position Rate: $17.00 per hour
