Job Overview

At Hotel Vandivort, we’re looking for a bold and imaginative Marketing Manager—someone
who lives at the intersection of marketing, events, digital storytelling, and community
building. You’ll be the creative force driving how our brand is experienced, remembered,
and talked about—both online and on-site. Through compelling activations, content,
partnerships, and campaigns, you’ll help us shape a guest experience that’s as unique as the
city we call home. This role requires a strong on-site presence, especially during events and
activations, to ensure the brand's experiential elements are brought to life and effectively
captured.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy & Identity
    • Act as brand guardian for Hotel Vandivort—ensuring all materials, messaging, and guest
    touchpoints reflect our identity and values
    • Create forward-thinking content and experiences that position Hotel Vandivort as a
    cultural hub in Springfield
    • Lead the design and production of marketing collateral including menus, flyers, digital
    assets, and signage
    • Develop experiential offerings and creative packages aligned with brand storytelling
    Digital Marketing & Content Creation
    • Work with digital agency partner to help manage the hotel’s web presence—ensuring
    content is current, engaging, and SEO-optimized
    • Develop and execute targeted email campaigns with compelling copy and visuals
    • Maintain digital listings (Google, TripAdvisor, etc.) and identify new platforms for
    visibility
    • Use data and analytics (Google Analytics, CMS, social reports) to refine strategies
    Social Media & Community Engagement
    • Own content planning, creation, and posting across Instagram, Facebook, and emerging
    channels
    • Stay ahead of trends and create on-brand short-form video and photo content
    • Support online community building through storytelling, local collaborations, and
    responsive engagement
    • Develop monthly performance reports and content strategies in partnership with
    agency or internal teams
    Events & Activations
    • Concept, promote, and produce on-brand events that excite guests and locals alike
    • Coordinate logistics and serve as on-site lead for activations and pop-ups
    • Build community relationships to support cross-promotional opportunities
    • Maintain local event listings and ensure team is aligned on upcoming experiences
    • Be physically present at events to ensure execution aligns with brand goals and to
    capture experiential content
    Public Relations & Partnerships
    • Collaborate with PR agencies to secure media coverage for the hotel, events, and offers
    • Identify compelling stories and milestones to pitch for brand exposure
    • Lead brand partnerships that elevate guest experience and brand visibility
    Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, or related field preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in marketing, branding, or event strategy; hospitality preferred
    Skills & Strengths
    • A natural storyteller with strong writing, visual, and conceptual skills
    • Confident event producer and cross-functional collaborator
    • Basic design skills (Adobe Suite or Canva) a plus
    • Experience with CMS, email platforms, and social media management tools (e.g., Sprout)
    • Highly organized, energetic, and comfortable juggling multiple creative projects
    • Available to work occasional evenings/weekends and lift 25–30 lbs during event setup
    • Must be on-site for events and activations to ensure brand standards and experiences
    are executed and documented

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required to read manager's letters, help prepare contracts and proposals
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Computer literacy, specifically MS Word for Windows
  • Communication at all levels; multi-tasking; time management
