Job Overview

The Director of Operations Finance – Transitions and Talent Development will play a critical role in supporting Sage Hospitality Group’s operational and financial excellence. This position is responsible for leading the transition of hotel properties onto Sage’s financial systems, onboarding and/or training property-level Directors of Finance and managing special projects for the Operations Finance team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical skills, exceptional project management capabilities, and a passion for process improvement.

Responsibilities

System Transition & Implementation 

  • Lead the onboarding and migration of hotel properties to Sage’s financial systems. 
  • Ensure accurate configuration and integration of financial and operational data. 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Sage’s financial platforms. 

Training & Development 

  • Design and deliver training programs for property-level Directors of Finance. 
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure compliance with corporate standards. 
  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting and best practices. 

Project Management 

  • Manage special projects for the Operations Finance team, including but not limited to, process improvement initiatives and system enhancements or rollouts. 
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables; monitor progress and report outcomes. 

Process Optimization 

  • Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes. 
  • Recommend and implement solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy across financial operations. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with corporate departments and property teams to ensure alignment on financial and operational goals. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field 

 

Experience

Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in hospitality finance or operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems and operational processes. 
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within scope. 
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to learn and master new technologies quickly. 
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. 
  • Self-motivated innovator with a passion for identifying opportunities and implementing sustainable improvements and operational excellence 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 75%). 
  • Prolonged sitting throughout entire shift at computerized workstation.
  • Sitting 85%, Walking 5%, Standing 5%, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing 5%.
  • Lifting and carrying of objects, 30-35 pounds.
  • Hearing required to train and interact with management and associates.
  • Vision required to read reports, computer, etc.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required for review and preparation of all documentation.
  • Mobility -limited mobility between offices and departments. No continuous standing, climbing or driving.

 

Environment

Office environment – 75%, Hotel and restaurant environment – 25%
