Job Overview

Ensures seamless event execution by leading service staff, coordinating with culinary and event teams, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction. The focus is on clear communication, precise timing, and efficient on-site problem solving to deliver a smooth, professional banquet experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and supervise banquet servers and bartenders during events
  • Assign stations and responsibilities to ensure smooth service execution
  • Monitor staff appearance, professionalism, and service standards throughout the event
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event hosts during service
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding quickly to requests and resolving concerns professionally
  • Maintain a high level of hospitality and service standards throughout all events
  • Coordinate food and beverage service timing with the culinary and bar teams
  • Oversee buffet presentations and replenishment
  • Ensure tables are cleared and reset efficiently while maintaining service flow
  • Supervise breakdown and cleanup of banquet spaces
  • Complete consumption reports and closing paperwork
  • Ensure all banquet areas are clean, organized, and secured at the end of the event
  • All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High school education or equivalent.

 

Experience

2-5 years of banquet, restaurant, or high volume food & beverage experience preferred.

 

Knowledge/Skills

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards
  • Basic knowledge of wine, spirits, and banquet-style dining service preferred
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Lifting trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. 20 -40 lbs. Pushing carts, Queen Marys, hotbox, portable bar 50 -100 lbs.
  • Carrying trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc using both hands at 20 -40 lbs.
  • Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
  • Bending/kneeling: Ability to bend to lower level cabinets and lift trays.
  • Mobility: Maneuver in narrow areas and between seated guests. Continuous standing required to service guest functions; 100% of the time scheduled. Climbing approximately 12 steps 20% of 8 hours.
  • No driving required.
  • Must have moderate comprehension and literacy to read use records and all special requests.
  • Must have ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, must be able to follow verbal and written instruction, and be able to communicate.
  • Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks.

Environment

Physically strenuous: prolonged standing, walking, lifting and carrying throughout entire shift in 95% indoor environment. Going in the freezer temperatures can be -10 degrees.
