Job Overview

Behind every great bar experience is a Bartender who brings it all together. From the moment the bar is set, through each carefully crafted cocktail, to the final guest farewell, the Bartender is responsible for creating an experience that feels seamless, welcoming, and memorable.

 

This role goes beyond mixing drinks. It is about setting the stage for service, engaging with guests throughout their visit, and maintaining an environment where quality, hospitality, and attention to detail are consistently delivered. From preparation and presentation to cleanliness and closeout, every action contributes to guest satisfaction and the overall success of the bar.

 

With a focus on both service excellence and operational standards, the Bartender helps ensure each shift runs smoothly while supporting the financial and experiential goals of the establishment. Every drink poured and every interaction matters in creating an atmosphere guests want to return to again and again.

Responsibilities

  • Crafted and served cocktails, wine, and beer to the highest standards, following recipe specifications and presentation guidelines.
  • Provided knowledgeable beverage recommendations and pairings, confidently describing spirits, vintages, and tasting notes.
  • Maintained speed and quality during high-volume service by managing multiple drink orders, tickets, and timing to support front-of-house operations.
  • Ensured accurate POS transactions, cash handling, and execution of opening and closing bar procedures.
  • Maintained bar cleanliness, inventory, and par levels while completing daily setup and end-of-shift restocking.
  • Enforced responsible alcohol service and consistently verified guest identification in compliance with policies.
  • Assisted with menu development, seasonal cocktail features, and staff training initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

Bartending training and certification, TIPS Certified

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience bartending in fine‑dining or upscale, high‑volume hospitality environments.
  • Strong technical cocktail skills and working knowledge of wine and spirits; sommelier or beverage certifications a plus.
  • TIPS (or equivalent responsible service) certification required.
  • Excellent communication, upsell, and guest service skills; ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.
  • Professional appearance, reliable attendance, and a team‑first attitude.

 

Knowledge/Skills

Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

 

Physical Demands

  • Lifting trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. 20 -40 lbs. Pushing carts, Queen Marys, hotbox, portable bar 50 -100 lbs. Carrying trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. 20 -40 lbs.
  • Bending/kneeling -ability to bend to lower level cabinets and lift trays.
  • Mobility -maneuver in narrow areas and between seated guests.
  • Continuous standing required to service guest functions; 100% of the time scheduled.
  • Climbing approximately 12 steps 20% of 8 hours.
  • No driving required.
  • Must be able to ruse records and all special requests.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks at one time, must be able to follow verbal and written instruction in English, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
  • Ability to accurately count cash. Ability to operate cash register.
