Job Overview

The Bar Back plays a critical role in every exceptional experience at Spruzzo. As the foundation of the bar team, you'll anticipate the needs of the bartenders, ensuring they have everything required to deliver seamless, efficient, and elevated service. From keeping the bar fully stocked with spirits, mixers, garnishes, and glassware to maintaining a clean, organized, and service-ready workspace, your attention to detail keeps every shift running effortlessly.

Responsibilities

 
  • Assist bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies throughout service
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared bar areas before, during, and after service
  • Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients according to established recipes and standards
  • Change kegs, replenish ice bins, and monitor bar product inventory levels
  • Clean and maintain bar equipment, tools, and workstations while following health and safety standards
  • Remove trash, empty bottles, and clear used glassware efficiently throughout service
  • Support opening and closing duties, including deep cleaning, setup, and restocking
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and properly storing products through organization and rotation
  • Collaborate closely with bartenders and management to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High School or Equivalent

 

Experience

 

Required

  • Previous bar back or food & beverage experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (kegs, cases, ice) up to 50 lbs
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

  • Previous bar back or food & beverage experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (kegs, cases, ice) up to 50 lbs

Repeated bending, pushing, pulling and lifting -up to 35 lbs. required.

  • Ability to identify proper supplies.
  • Repeated lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 50 lbs. -cases of liquor, glasses, trash, cans, mopping and sweeping. Bending/kneeling required to clean and stock bar areas.
  • Continuous standing, in order to stock and clean bar and lounge areas.
